Ranbir Kapoor is the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. He made his debut in November 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor. Although the film was not received well at the box office, Kapoor gained many positive reviews for his portrayal of the lovesick singer, Ranbir Raj.
Kapoor has been noted to be one of the best newcomers in Bollywood today, many predict he will have a long and successful career within India cinema.
Ranbir is currently dating, newcomer actress Deepika Padukone .
