Yash Raj Films Offers Bollywood Tours In Switzerland

There has long been a connection between India and Switzerland, but until now, that connection has been a cinematic one. As many films, especially Yash Raj films, have been shot at least in part in Switzerland, usually a song or two.

Now the European ski destination is attempting to not only woo Indian films, but also its travelers.

A series of adverts have been sponsored by Switzerland Tourism, the city of Lucerne, and Kuoni Travels' Indian operation encouraging Indians to "experience the magic" and take a break in some of the regions seen in some India's most famous films, such as the iconic Yash Raj Film Darr, which was shot on location in Switzerland.

Suhel Seth, managing director of Counselage, a brand and marketing consultancy said that it is not longer impossible for Indians experince the locations in these films, now they "...can be part of the scene by going there".

Yash Raj Films recently joined SOTC, an arm of the Kuoni Travel Group in India, to provide tours in Switzerland for film fans. YRF Enchanted Journey offers a tour of locations used by Yash Raj Films in some of its hits, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, Veer-Zaara, Chandni, Darr and Bachna Ae Haseeno.
